About Charm Thai Cafe
Charm Thai Cafe is an independent Thai restaurant at 67 Copley Road in Doncaster town centre. James Staniforth owns and runs the restaurant, while Head Chef Rin leads the Thai kitchen team. Our food is cooked to order for dine-in, takeaway collection and local delivery.

I'm James. Before Charm Thai Cafe, these premises were already a Thai restaurant. I saw an opportunity to give the place a fresh start and offer people in Doncaster another choice for Thai food.
We spent several months renovating before opening as Charm Thai Cafe on 10 June 2024. That meant updating the décor, choosing a new colour palette and bringing new equipment into the kitchen.
The aim was a down-to-earth restaurant where people could relax, enjoy their food and feel welcome.
Rin and the kitchen team
Rin joined us as Head Chef for the opening. She has more than 10 years of kitchen experience across South Yorkshire. Before joining Charm Thai Cafe, she was Head Chef at Happy Cha Bubble Tea in Royston, Barnsley, where her work included cooking Thai food.
Our kitchen team is entirely Thai. I often joke with customers that if I did the cooking, they wouldn't come back. I leave that part to Rin and the team.
My work includes managing the staff, sourcing ingredients with Rin's guidance, answering the phone and looking after customers.
Time to talk through the menu
I know regulars by their first names and treat them like friends. I want someone visiting for the first time to feel comfortable asking questions too.
If you're unfamiliar with Thai food, I'll talk you through the menu, explain the chilli ratings and help you choose. Tell us how much heat you enjoy so we can discuss the dish and preparation that suit your taste.
I'm on hand if you need more help. For me, the personal touch means taking an interest in the people who come through the door and making time for them.
