Charm Thai Cafe is an independent Thai restaurant led by Head Chef Rin. The kitchen handles dine-in, takeaway and local delivery orders. Dishes are cooked to order using authentic Thai ingredients.

Authentic Thai food uses real Thai ingredients - curry pastes, fish sauce, palm sugar, kaffir lime leaves - prepared the way they are in Thailand. We use authentic Thai products selected by Rin, imported directly from Thailand. The difference is in the balance: sweet, sour, salty and spicy working together rather than any one flavour dominating.

Thai food has a wide range. Pad Thai is mild and sweet. Green curry has a clean herbal heat. Jungle curry (the one without coconut milk) is the most intensely spicy dish on a traditional Thai menu. We cook to your preference - just let us know when you order and the kitchen can adjust the heat as the dish cooks.

In Thailand, meals are typically shared with several dishes arriving together rather than in strict courses. In a restaurant setting like ours, one starter per person followed by a main each works well for most groups. For a group of four, two or three mains to share plus a starter each is a good approach. Either way works.

Green curry uses fresh green chillies for a herbal, fragrant heat. Red curry uses dried red chillies - deeper and slightly more earthy. Yellow curry contains turmeric and dried spices, giving it a milder, warmer flavour closer to South Asian curries. All three use coconut milk. Jungle curry is the one without coconut milk if you want a thinner, hotter curry.

Start with something approachable: chicken satay as a starter, Pad Thai or green curry as a main, and a Thai milk tea to finish. Once you've got your bearings, a stir fry or one of the other curries gives you a broader picture on your next visit. We're happy to talk you through the menu when you arrive.

The chilli ratings on our menu show how the dish is traditionally cooked in Thailand. We dial the heat back by default so everyone can enjoy it. Want the full kick? Just ask and we'll cook it to your taste.
