Charm Thai Cafe is South Yorkshire's most-reviewed 5-star Thai restaurant on Google, with 186 five-star reviews and counting. We are led by Head Chef Rin, who spent over 10 years cooking Thai food across South Yorkshire before opening her own kitchen here. Her career includes a long stint at Thai Garden Cafe in Manvers, briefly at Khao Niew in Barnsley, and Happy Cha Bubble Tea where she ran the Thai food side. Charm is the next step - her own kitchen, run her own way, with her signature dark noodle soup on the menu.
We took over a tired Thai cafe on Copley Road that had lost its way. Dated decor, dated kitchen, no spark. A lick of paint, new tables, new flooring, and a properly modernised kitchen later, Charm Thai Cafe opened with one goal: do Thai food the way it should be done.
We watched local Thai restaurants get complacent. Smaller portions, higher prices, food that didn't taste like proper Thai food. So we built something different. Five tables only - intimate Thai dining the way it should be, with the whole room available for private dining and group bookings when you want it just for your party. Authentic Thai pastes and ingredients sourced direct from Thailand - the same ones used in Bangkok kitchens. Spring rolls, dumplings and fish cakes handmade by Rin in our kitchen, not bought in pre-made. Sauces prepped daily by Rin and finished in the wok per order. Rin taste-tests every plate as she cooks and isn't afraid to ask for honest opinions. That's why our regulars keep coming back, and why people drive in from across South Yorkshire to eat at what we think is Doncaster's specialist Thai restaurant.

Our Location
Thai Restaurant in Doncaster Town Centre
Charm Thai Cafe is at 67 Copley Road in Doncaster town centre, DN1 2QP. The restaurant sits just off East Laith Gate and Netherhall Road - two of the town's busiest restaurant streets - but on a quieter side road with street parking outside the door. The Wool Market is a two-minute walk north, and the Markets Car Park on High Fishergate is the closest car park for the restaurant. The Temple on Market Place is three minutes on foot. Doncaster Minster is around seven minutes along Church Street, and Frenchgate Shopping Centre, Doncaster railway station, Cast theatre, and the Civic Office on Waterdale are all roughly ten minutes south. Doncaster Royal Infirmary on Armthorpe Road is under a mile away too, useful to know if you are visiting on hospital business. For visitors arriving by train, we are one of the closest independent restaurants to the station without walking through Frenchgate. The A1(M) and M18 are both within a few minutes by car.
By car, Doncaster Racecourse on Bawtry Road is a five-minute drive from Copley Road. The Dome at Doncaster Lakeside and Lakeside Village sit just beyond the racecourse, and Elmfield Park is three minutes south. Whether you are heading to a St Leger race meeting, an event at the Dome, or a Doncaster Rovers match, we are open for pre-race and post-race dining, match-day meals, and evening dining around Doncaster events.
Delivery runs across Doncaster for a flat £2 fee within eight miles, no minimum order. Every dish comes with the same vegan and vegetarian menus, halal chicken and beef, and gluten free options across all mains, whether you are dining in, collecting, or ordering delivery.
