Bawtry is outside our normal door-to-door delivery area, and we never wanted to be the restaurant that hands a delivery box over long after it left the wok. So we run it differently for Bawtry.

Charm Thai Cafe is an independent Thai restaurant in Doncaster. Bawtry is outside our normal door-to-door radius, so this page is specifically about the agreed halfway-meet option rather than local delivery in Bawtry.

You phone us, tell us what you would like and roughly when you can be in the car. We give you a meeting time and agree a meeting point in Bessacarr or Cantley. The food is cooked to order while you get ready to leave the house, our driver takes the box down to the agreed meeting point, and you arrive around the same time. Hot food, freshly cooked, with a short drive for you instead of a long one.

The reason we do not run standard door delivery to Bawtry is honesty about what would happen to the food. Driving from Copley Road to a Bawtry doorstep takes noticeably longer than our normal delivery patch. The food is in a container the whole time. Even with insulated bags, the rice continues to steam, the curry sits, the Pad Thai softens. By the time it arrives, it is no longer at its best.

The halfway-meet cuts that down. The food is in transit for a similar time to any of our standard delivery patches. You handle the rest of the drive, but you are not eating it from the box yet - it goes in the car, lid still warm, and you have it home shortly after. The difference shows in the rice alone.
