Thai Delivery in Edenthorpe

A straight run out on the Thorne Road

Edenthorpe sits about three miles north east of our kitchen on Copley Road, more or less a straight run out on the Thorne Road. The drive takes around ten minutes - past Wheatley Hall Road, on through the Wheatley side of town and out toward the village proper. Whether the order is coming from the streets off Eden Field Road in the older part of the village, the area around Church Balk and the Holly Bush, or the newer developments out toward Kirk Sandall and the Mill Lane edge, we cover the whole patch.

Edenthorpe is a substantial village - around 4,800 people - and the orders come from across it. The homes near Athelstane Crescent and Locksley Avenue, the houses around the war memorial on the Thorne Road / Eden Grove corner, the streets running off the Old Lane junction, the area near Edenthorpe Hall Primary on The Drive - we have been to all of them. No minimum order, and we will get a hot meal to you whether it is for one or for a family of six.

About the area we deliver to

The shape of Edenthorpe

Edenthorpe sits on the eastern edge of Doncaster, four miles out of the city centre on the Thorne Road corridor. The village is older than the name suggests - it appears in the Domesday Book as Stirestrop, became Streethorpe by the seventeenth century (a village on the street, the road from Doncaster to Goole), and only took its current name in the 1870s after the Eden family of nearby Streethorpe bought the manor. The local Edenthorpe Parish Council has a good detailed history of the village if you want the longer version.

Day to day, the centre of the village is the stretch around Church Balk and Eden Field Road - the Holly Bush, the Eden Arms, the Ridgewood pub named after the 1949 Derby winner, the Canon Popham primary school, and the war memorial inscribed “A Blessed Village” on the Thorne Road / Eden Grove junction. The streets east of there spread out toward the Kirk Sandall side and the parish boundary, while the older houses on Old Lane and around the church sit at the western end. The whole village is laid out neatly enough that we can usually find any address from the postcode alone.

If you are over in Armthorpe a couple of miles south, or further out at Kirk Sandall on the next stretch of the Thorne Road, or back toward town in Wheatley, we have dedicated pages for those too.
